MESSAGE FROM YOUR EDITOR:

I hope you are enjoying reading the weekly bulletin. If you have any ideas on how we can improve on it please let me know and I would be very happy to implement if possible.

Some weeks we have little to no photos to include in the bulletin and when this happens I was thinking it would be nice if you would like to have a section for personal photos. Photos of perhaps personal projects, family celebrations, holidays and trips etc. This way we can all learn more about each other.  If you have photos you would like to include please email to me at  traceyrees17@gmail.com

TONIGHTS SPEAKERS – Tess & Jaala 8 MONTHS OWNING INGLEWOOD PHARMACY
Tess grew up in Urenui and Waitara.  Attended a Rotary Camp as a youngster.  Went to Dunedin to study as had a Pharmacy job at Waitara during her senior schooling. Received a scholarship and internship through Taranaki Base Hospital in Pharmacy.  Took time off to do overseas travel of South America and Bounes Aires and ended up working in London. Returned to New Plymouth realising how small of a community it was so continued in South Auckland which was a real eye opener. Does mobile clinic pharmacy work in NP & Stratford and locum pharmacy work prescripting.  Inglewood Pharmacy has been hard work to get in order but loves helping in the small communities and seeing folk getting better.
Jaala grew up in Eltham and when the family moved to New Plymouth went to Woodleigh and NPGHS.  Went to University in Dunedin to study accounting but had a change of heart when her mum was on a pharmacy counter in NP and decided she liked the sciences.  Jaala also received a scholarship and internship at New Plymouth Base Hospital and there met Tess.  Jaala then went overseas through Europe and ended up in London for world cup.  Returned to NP and worked at Fitzroy, Strandon, Valley and knew what it was like to go through a change of ownership so had a good idea what to expect with Inglewood.  Worked also at Vogeltown with David Fabish before coming to Inglewood.
QA:  We learnt that the $5 we pay for scripts is collected by Govt – a small margin on medications only and its all controlled by Pharmac.

Noel delivered us a quiz on years of Where were Olympics held.  A few had them right and a few silent helpers helped us out.  Just as well we had helpers or we could have been there all night.
Jim Shepherd advised he has finished working on the EOY paperwork for 5 groups he is treasurer for.  He recently played the bagpipes at a funeral and advised this was his 91ST time.  He has also been supporting Walsh Autos and the local Pharmacy.
